Shaq is Back wins Dexter Cup Elimination

Freehold, NJ —- Givemethecredit Stable’s Shaq Is Back coming off an almost 7 months hiatus, won the $51,900 Dexter Cup elimination by 3 ½ impressive lengths at Freehold on Saturday. Senor Glide with Dan Dube up and part of the 3-5 Jimmy Takter trained entry, closed for 2nd while finishing 1 ½ lengths in front of Mamas Boo Bear with Steve Smith in the bike.
The winner, well prepared by trainer Ray Schnittker and driven by George Brennan, took the lead just before the first quarter marker which went in 27:4 and lead the rest of the way through fractions of 58:2, 1:28:1 and finished up in 1:57:2.
Hard Livin, the barnmate of runnerup Senor Glide, made a break well before the start and lost all chance.
Shaq Is Back, a son of Credit Winner, was coupled in the wagering with Margarita Man and they returned $3.80 to win as the second choice, started an exacta of $8.60 and a trifecta worth $26.00.
The top 3 finishers in this elimination will join Big Stick Lindy, Celebrity Blue Chip, Flex the Muscle, Indefensible and Take my Picture, all of whom got byes to the final by rule.
The $156,000 final of the 51st Dexter Cup will be contested here at Freehold Raceway on Saturday, May 8th.
