TO HOST HANDICAPPING CONTEST
FREEHOLD, NJ - - Freehold Raceway will be the site of a
Thoroughbred Handicapping Contest on Friday, May 4, 2007.
The contest, which will be restricted to 100 entrants, will consist of races
from Churchill, Belmont and Pimlico.
The format for the contest will consist of $10 win and place wagers, however
on one race contestants may increase their wager up to $50 win and place.
Entrants must wager on a minimum of 10 races, but may bet up to 12 races.
The total cost is $350, of which $150 is the entry fee that goes toward prize
money and the remaining $200 will be used as a betting stake. The contestants
keep all parimutuel winnings and prize money will be paid out to the five
handicappers with the highest bankrolls. The winner shall receive 50% of the
prize money, followed by 25% for second, 12% for third, 8% for fourth and 5% for
fifth. As an added bonus, the top
five contestants will also have their entry fee waived for the next contest held
at Freehold Raceway.
The contest will take place in the popular Inside Track room in the
Clubhouse. Entrants will receive a program for the contest and will be treated
to a lunch buffet.
One of the features of the contest is the special prize that will be awarded
to the winner. The contest winner will gain entry into the 2008 Horseplayer
World Series in Las Vegas.

Mail in registrations for the contest must be made in advance and must be
received, along with the $350 total cost, no later than May 2, 2007.
Registrations must be in the form of a money order or Cashier’s Check
made payable to Freehold Raceway.
