FREEHOLD, NJ ñ Texas Shootout won the 31st running of the $
274,225. James
B. Dancer Memorial Final for 3 year olds at Freehold Raceway on Saturday.
Driven by Yannick Gingras, Texas Shootout made a move on the final turn
and got to the wire in 1:54.0. The
Mickey Burke trained gelding started from the second tier, but was in contention
right from the start and paid $ 6.20, 6.60, 5.00.
Finishing second was Cane Pace contender Livestrong with Steve Smith while
Gimmebackmybullets driven by Stephane Bouchard finished third.
The race also included morning line favorite and New Jersey Sire Stakes
Champion
Four Starz Lights (3-1) with Jeff Gregory who finished a disappointing fifth.
