Freehold Announces $10,000 Driving Challenge

Freehold, NJ—-Freehold Raceway will host a $10,000 Driving Challenge on Saturday, December 8, 2012. The eight local drivers involved are Hall of Famer Catello Manzi, Jeff Gregory, Jim Marshall III, Steve Smith, Jim Panteleano, Eric Abbatiello, Harry Landy and Joe Bongiorno. Sponsoring the event are Trinity Financial Sports and Entertainment Management Co., LLC, the Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association of New Jersey and the Bongiorno and Landy families.
The challenge will be based on a point system comprising eight designated races with the winner receiving $4,000.00. Other prizes are 2nd place - $2,000, 3rd place - $1,000 and finishing fourth through eighth is worth $600.00. The participating drivers have all agreed to donate 10% of their earnings to the Freehold Area Open Door with Freehold Raceway providing a matching donation. Patrons who donate non-perishable food items will receive a complimentary Freehold live program.

The Freehold Area Open Door is a nonprofit agency which provides emergency food, emergency funding, mentoring and scholarships to those in need in the Freehold Area.
