Smalltownthrowdown Seeks Repeat at Freehold

The final Preferred Handicap trot of the winter/spring season at Freehold Raceway attracted a full field of eight, and features a very fast trotter in search of a repeat.
Smalltownthrowdown won the Preferred Handicap last Friday (May 21) by 1 1/2 lengths, trotting the mile in an impressive 1:55 1/5. This Friday (May 28) he’s back for more, seeking his second consecutive win and his third of the Freehold season. He’ll leave from post position eight, for trainer Mike Terpolilli and driver Austin Siegelman.
The second and third-place finishers from last week’s Preferred Handicap will leave from his direct inside. Top Flight Angel finished third last week in his third start off the layoff. He’ll have post position six, for trainer Julie Miller and driver Tyler Miller. Windsong Pioneer finished second last week, and has finished in the top two in the Preferred Handicap each of the last four weeks. Pat Lachance has the drive for trainer Paul Stafford, leaving from post position seven.
Slated to Win, Casino Cutie It, Magic MVP, Drazzmatazz, and New Heaven round out the field. Casino Cutie It and Drazzmatazz also won the Prefered Handicap earlier in the season.
The Preferred Handicap is scheduled as the fifth race, with a scheduled post time of 1:50pm.
Post time for the first of ten races on Friday is scheduled for 12:30pm.
